He was born around 1960 and went to war in the Falklands where he died on the Sir Galahad. He would have been about 22. Last known area for his mother was Wood Green, North London. I have come against a brick wall when trying to do it offically. Any information given will be treated in the strictest confidence. I wish to raise awareness as in the States and bring the subject into the public eye. I am a member of a motorcyle association called Star Touring and Riding, which is American based and is doing wonderful work raising awareness of POW/MIAs in the States. I wouldn't usually bother trying to get in contact with people from my not so distant past, but when you care and love someone so much, you'd do anything to see that person one more time. | Message: | I am looking for my mums father that she never met. His name is probably J. Andrews (Jonny or Jack maybe) and he was petty officer of the Royal Navy during WW2. He was stationed in "Estetal"-barracks in Buxtehude, Germany 1945-1946. The only information I have is that he was born on 11 February 1918 and that he left to Portsmouth, England on 18 March 1946. | Message: | i am trying to trace any information about any ancestors/siblings of jack ellis. he was born in peel, isle of man in 1884 and ran away from home at the age of 12 to liverpool. there is no census information about him in 1901 census either in the isle of man or england. so whether he changed his name thinking he may get into trouble for running away. he then served in the boar war in 1901 onwards and at some point married elizabeth farrell and they had 4 children. all his war medals are in the name of jack ellis though? i am unable to trace this marriage so any information would be greatfully received | |
