| Message: | my birth mother called me melanie when i was born in lisburn hospital on the 9/9/87.my name now is laura melanie pickering.i weighed 3.35kgs when i was born.my mum left a wee white blaket with me when she put me up for adoption.i know that my mum was 15 when she had me and just about to set her gcses.my dad was 23 and they are both from lisburn.i also know my grandmother has a blood condition known as hyperlipid.anne marie's sister lives near her with her husband and 2 children & 2 brothers who live and work in london and the third oldest brother live close to her in a village in lisburn.anne marie;s mother works as a receptionist in a large factory.i also know that my father davids ideal job is as a sound recordist in a recording studio,he lived with his parents and his father is a security man and his mother is a machine operator.i know that my dad objected to the adoption but was unwilling to accept responsibility for anne marie and me(melanie).the social worker that delt with the case was called mauiee o'kane.i was put into fostercare till dec 1987,i dont know anyother information about my birth parents but if anyone knows anything could you please get in contact with me.my mum would be 36 now and my dad would be 44.i would like to know were i came from. | |

| Message: | I would like to contact my birth mother. I was born 9.5.1962 on the Isle of Wight and adopted through the Catholic Childrens Society. My birth name was Marion Helen. I do have the following details - my birth mothers address was 52,Linenhall Square, Newry and occupation was stated as a Viewer in a Rubber Factory. Previous to this she did seasonal work on the Isle of Man and the Isle of Wight, she spent some time in Birmingham and London around 1960-1961. I was informed that she had a fiance ? from Birmingham around that time, called William Ryan and he was living in Birmingham in 1962. I would really appreciate any information or help tracing my birth mother/father. I am on the adoption contact register and do realise the sensitivity needed around the issue of adoption, but I would also dearly love to make contact. Many thanks in advance for any help. | |

| Message: | I am searching for my birth father. I have very little information as I was adopted, and no details about my father were entered on my certificate. The only information I have is his name, that in 1962 when I was adopted, he was aged about 25. He was definately from Ireland, was a lorry driver at that time, and worked at Armagh Down Cremery. It is also highly likely that he does not even know of my birth, as I have been told my birth mother did not know she was pregnant. My birth mothers name was Kathleen Reilly, born 28.7.35, and was from Newry, County Down. She went to St Josephs School, left aged 14, and was a mill worker for 7 years. She did seasonal work on the Isle of Man and the Isle of Wight during 1960-1962. I would dearly love to make contact sensitively as I realise that time and circumstances were very different in the 1960's. If anyone has any details or information I would really appreciate any help. Thankyou. | |

| Message: | I worked with Victoria Cunningham in Frasers, Glasgow in about 1999. She had come to Glasgow to go to university and ended up living with her boyfriend in Stewartville Street, Partick. She left after this relationship broke up and I know that she visited Australia at least briefly. At the time her mum, dad and sister were all still living in her hometown of Lurgan. I think that her sister used to work for Guinness breweries? I would like to hear from Vicky or any of the family, just to catch up! | |
