My grandfather was born in 1907 and is now deceased and my gran was born in 1908 and is now also deceased. My father at the time of my birth was a maintenance engineer and he met my mother whilst they both worked for a cruise ship company they were married in 1967 and I was born on the 6th march 1968, there is no strings attached I just want to be reunited with my dad. | Message: | In my continuing quest for finding my mother, Margaret, I wonder if anyone recognises these names of those who worked with Margaret at the (then 1950s) Shaftesbury Hotel, Monmouth Street, WC2. They are: Winifred Ibosoux or Ibosonx, Minnie Mohr, Pauline Vera Mary Palmer and a T. Thompson. Lily Ettel has been found living in Hertfordshire but unfortunately does not remember my mother's history, only that they were good friends. As Margaret lived at the Shaftesbury Hotel for about 6 years or so from early 1951 until about 1956/7, I wonder if any of these ladies remember her? Lily left the Shaftesbury in 1957. Of Margaret, there appears to be no trace, yet it is logical to assume that she had found another position. If anyone could help I would be extremely grateful. Many thanks. | Message: | In 1968 I flew BOAC 1st -Class to London trying to avoid the U.S.government. I was 19, ingenuous in most things socio-economic, and in need of a few road miles. I was blessed to meet Michael & Maria and a house full of people in Brent (minus the one or two who infect every crowd). There was Robert, genius of lite shows (on the ground floor)& 3-wheeled cars (ahead of his time there as well). In late summer, 1999, I flew Icelandic Airlines standby back to the U.S. and the rest is history or at least what I remember of it. I hope somebody sees this note.
