Seeking:  Barraclough
Location:  Yorkshire and the Humber : Greasbrough
Message:  My Grandfather was born Llewelyn Theodore Barraclough in 1908 in a guest house in Llandudno. He died in 1985 as Edward (Ted) Ellis. He was adopted by a Harriet Ellis (possibly a spinster and family friend) in Sheffield after his parents emigrated to Budwhan Province, India around 1909/10. His father Francis Allen Barraclough, a mining engineer, and mother Sarah Taylor married in Sheffield in a church now called New Testament Church Of God in Nursery Street. Francis' father was George Barraclough, one time manager at the Aldwarke Main Colliery in Rotherham. Other places related to this family are Greasborough, Parkgate, Joiner Street in Sheffield (Off Nursery Street). A family of about 7 kids, there was a brother to Francis' was called Oscar and a sister Florence. The name Swift also appears on Census records. I'd love to locate anyone related to these people. I've been to Greasborough, Parkgate and Rotherham, was brought up in Sheffield myself. Unfortunately I lost all my search information (18 month's in the collection, both on laptop and paper copies) and have to start all over again.
