| Message: | Hi, I know this is a long shot, but i reckon it's worth a try. I am trying to trace a Tom or Thomas Watt from Inverness. In around 1946-1948 Tom was one of the WW2 mining 'Bevin Boys' and lived in the Bevin Boy hostel in Cowdenbeath, Fife. While living there he met a woman called Grace Walton (or Bell). Grace (my grandmother) already had a son who would have been around 10yrs old at the time but during her relationship with Tom she fell pregnant with another baby boy (my father). This is all the information we have, and sadly there is no-one in our family still alive that could shed more light. My dad doesn't even know if Tom knew about him. I understand that Tom might not even be alive but even the smallest bit of info would be great. Thankyou! | |

| Message: | I am looking for my half-brother, Brian Jameson / Jamieson - I'm not sure how it is spelled.I think he may be in his late 20's early 30's by now. I don't know much about wot happened but his real father's name is Brian Hopkins. I think his mother (Jane Jameson) was around 16 or 17 years old when she had him. She later went on to marry a man who was in the RAF and I think he took on his surname. Brian Hopkins went on to join the army as a bandsman in the Queen's own Highlanders, Seaforth and Cameron and eventually moved to Perth, Scotland and worked as a staff nurse in Perth Royal Infirmary. I would really like to get in touch with him, and let him know that he has 2 half brothers and a half sister (me)looking for him. I've tried searching for him for a long time but unfortunately i have had no luck. Please, if anyone knows who i am talking about, please don't hesitate to get in touch. i hope someone can help me... | |
