| Message: | I am an author currently researching the history and past times of the HALLSANDS HOTEL near Kingsbridge, South Devon, for a forthcoming book. SELWYN ROSE (known as 'Tommy') and his wife MARY (Alice) ROSE (nee GALLAGHER) ran the Hallsands Hotel between 1947 and 1953. Selwyn originally came from Bridgend in South Wales. His sister, Marjorie Ethel ROSE (born 1912, Glamorgan) married William J SHEWRING at Pontypridd in 1931. William died in 1983 at Pontypridd. Marjorie may have had a second marriage to James A ELLIS in 1976 at Banbury, but she and William had the following children: Henrietta R SHEWRING (born 1932); James J SHEWRING (born 1933); Dennis S SHEWRING (born 1935); David W SHEWRING (born 1939); Phillip C SHEWRING (born 1947); Michael SHEWRING (born 1950); and Mary K SHEWRING (born 1951). Some of the surviving relatives may know more of their past family connection to the Hallsands Hotel. One of his brothers was Harold Stewart ROSE, whio married Phyllis MORGAN in 1940 at Swansea. Harold died in 1987 at Pontypridd and information on any surviving family is sparse. | Message: | I have not seen my sister since 1969. Her name before she was adopted was Petrina Anne Woodmore. After it was Leslie Holder or Holden. She lived in New Zealand as a child but ran away from her adoptive parents when they were vacationing in the U.K. Through a friend of hers in N.Z. I found out that she was living in Pontypridd, Wales .I don't know what her surname is now but I would like to hear from anyone that might know this person.
