| Message: | I am an author currently researching the history and past times of the HALLSANDS HOTEL near Kingsbridge, South Devon, for a forthcoming book. Frederick William BOWEN ran the Hotel from 1923 until 1924. It is possible that he was born at Milford Haven/Pembroke Dock, or at Haverford West (bmd index entries) but this is by no means certain. Little is known about him, but prior to 1923 he ran his own business as a Marine Engineer at Trefula, Mumbles, Swansea. Although these events took place a long time ago,there may still be surviving members of the BOWEN family who may know more of their relative's history as regards the Hallsands Hotel.
