| Message: | Peter Campbell Service #39219 age 24. Son of Alexander Farringdon Campbell and Dorothy Fanny Campbell. Killed in Ontario Canada Dec 13 1940.Was a member of RAFO. Anyone knowing whereabouts of next of kin. Flt Lt Campbell was killed along with Theodore Bates in Nomad 3521. The aircraft collided with another aircraft and crashed into Lake Muskoka north of Toronto Canada. We have located the crash area and efforts are currently underway to recover said aircraft. | Message: | My father Jim Astbury has died recently aged 91. Since his death I have discovered that while in England during the war he had a girlfriend and possibly a child. He was RAAF but was seconded to the RAF . He flew from Coningsby ? 83 squadron and from Metheringham ? 106 squadron. Although most of his colleagues could now be deceased I would love to hear from anyone who knew him especially if they had any details about his girlfriend and if in fact he had a child with her. I don't want to intrude in anyone's private affairs but there could be someone who is now in their late 60's who would like to know more about their father. | |

| Message: | I am trying to find out some details about my maternal grandfather, who went missing whilst on active service in June 1944. He is shown on the CWGC, and at Runnymede. At the time of his disappearance, my grandmother was unable to find out any of the circumstances - or to make contact with anyone else in the squadron due to the sensitivities of war. Has any more information come to light? Was any wreckage ever found - he was flying simple ordnance surveillance over the British Isles to make up his hours before leave. Can we find out which squadron he was with at the time - and in turn any of the people he may have been flying with in case some information came to light concerning them - or if indeed any of them were found?
