||Theadore (Ted) Wray was born to Margaret Wray, my Grandmother, June 21st 1918. His father may have been an American Soldier / Southport 1917. Her Husband who was infertile, divorced her. She took up with a Mr Moore, living at my Family's Business in Liverpool. Tragedy struck in 1921 Killing my Grandmother a few weeks after giving birth to a Baby girl...that was December, within months the Baby was dead to.... Mr Moore took my Uncle and his Mother's money to Scotland, where he unloaded my Uncle (aged 14) Ted Wray, into a Scottish Regiment... That Regiment was in Hong Kong on December 21st 1941 when the Japanese took it, by force... He disappeared, no trace, no body... He might have been taken in by his Girlfriend's family and spent the War Years in hiding..If anyone has any knowledge of an British Soldier taken in by family in Hong Kong. We would love to hear from you... Obviously, my Uncle will be gone... but his descendants would be around.. Hoping..... Peter Gaskell-Clarke.
